A chance meeting with Susan Sowerby started my ceramics journey in 2009. Sue is the master of mermaids. I wanted to do an ode
to her as way of thanks for all her guidance and mentorship, Mermaids are playful, elusive
creatures, playing in the rockpools of my imagination. The small figures were created in 2015. The birdbaths were made in 2023.
